SILENCE CALLING
The convoy moved slowly through the dark city streets. The two large armoured mobile laboratories sat between the two equally armoured security vehicles. The street lights were out and visibility was poor to the point that the drivers of all four vehicles had reverted to using night vision to see any obstacles that might lie ahead.
Since the entire city of Seattle had been placed in quarantine, the streets had become desolate. The United Continents had enforced the quarantine with an iron fist and apart from the very brave, most had remained indoors. Another thing that kept the majority of people indoors was the Silentium virus itself. It was now widespread news about the effects of the virus and nobody wanted to become blind or deaf, so they remained indoors and hoped that the United Continents would find a solution.
It had been three days now since the special investigations team had deployed to Seattle at the request of Jessica Maynard. Prior to their deployment, the new team which consisted of scientists and soldiers spent two days getting to know each other. There was never going to be any real middle ground between the two groups as the scientist’s aim in life was to help people whereas the soldiers were more used to conflict and battle. They were just two ends of the spectrum to be any kind of lateral thinking. However, they did have a common goal and that was to navigate around Seattle safely.

ELDERS REVENGE
‘Go, Go, Go!’ came the command from Dominic Fuller as soon as their aircraft had hit the deck.
Two groups of six assault troops fast roped from the CK-130 helicopters hovering about the residence and took up their positions. At the same time, Rye and his assault group exited the aircraft that had landed within the grounds of the residence. All team members had been fully briefed and knew they had to access the property with speed. Rye sprinted towards the rear of the building and the two large double doors identified as the ground team’s entry point. As Rye and his team arrived at the rear of the building, they positioned themselves on either side of the doors. Dominic nodded to Rye to try the door to see if it was unlocked. It was always wise to see if any entry point was unlocked before smashing your way through. Rye tried the handle and found it to be locked. Immediately, Rye took an explosive charge attached to his assault vest and placed it against the centre of the two doors.
‘Take cover!’ shouted Rye as he initiated the explosive charge.
Both doors blew inwards, and as they did, Rye and Dominic threw in stun grenades before entering the building, closely followed by the rest of the team.

EDEN AWAKENING
They saw dead soldiers from the Commando Elite as they turned the corner. Further along, they saw more bodies, this time belonging to the terrorists. Whatever had gone down here, it had been ferocious and nothing less than a blood bath.
They then saw a small group about a hundred metres away, making their way through the final security door before entering the control room; it was clear that they were the terrorists. Just as they were about to fire on them, one of the Commando Elite soldiers shouted out.
‘That’s Major Khan. They have Major Khan with them!’
Rye could see a man dressed in United Continents uniform being roughly handled by the group. He then watched as a muscular man dressed in black grabbed Major Khan by his hair and held his face against a control panel on the other side of the large opening.
‘They are going to close the security door. If that happens, we won’t get through,’ said the soldier.
Rye didn’t hesitate and set off at a sprint towards the security door…
