The Silentium virus had taken hold of the world. Another virus within an ocean of viruses unleashed on the planet. However, this virus is different and threatens to throw the planet into turmoil. Scientists and virologists work around the clock to find a cure for the Silentium virus, although time is against them.

As the virus spreads like wildfire, it is clear that a dedicated task force is needed. Major Danning of the Commando Elite is tasked with leading the team and from the outset it is clear that they have their work cut out and may require a secret weapon to succeed.

The United Continents turn to one man to save them. A man who has come face to face with those now behind the Silentium virus, Rye Braden.

Can the virus be stopped in time? Will Rye Braden help the United Continents in their quest to save the planet?

Excerpt

(Excerpt From Chapter 8):

The convoy moved slowly through the dark city streets. The two large armoured mobile laboratories sat between the two equally armoured security vehicles. The street lights were out and visibility was poor to the point that the drivers of all four vehicles had reverted to using night vision to see any obstacles that might lie ahead.

Since the entire city of Seattle had been placed in quarantine, the streets had become desolate. The United Continents had enforced the quarantine with an iron fist and apart from the very brave, most had remained indoors. Another thing that kept the majority of people indoors was the Silentium virus itself. It was now widespread news about the effects of the virus and nobody wanted to become blind or deaf, so they remained indoors and hoped that the United Continents would find a solution.

It had been three days now since the special investigations team had deployed to Seattle at the request of Jessica Maynard. Prior to their deployment, the new team which consisted of scientists and soldiers spent two days getting to know each other. There was never going to be any real middle ground between the two groups as the scientist’s aim in life was to help people whereas the soldiers were more used to conflict and battle. They were just two ends of the spectrum to be any kind of lateral thinking. However, they did have a common goal and that was to navigate around Seattle safely.

As expected, Ashton found the Major in charge to be slightly overpowering and not shy in enforcing his will on the group. Within the first forty-eight hours, Ashton had wondered whether he would ever get on with the tall broad-shouldered officer. As time wore on, he was starting to understand why the Major was like he was and was even starting to respect this fearless and authoritative figure.

Jessica hadn’t really paid much attention to Major Jack Danning or the Commando Elite soldiers. She had been polite and taken their advice and guidance on board, but that was about it. She felt she had more pressing matters on her shoulders than worrying about these brash and bolshy soldiers.

Since being in the city, they had witnessed strange patterns of behaviour between the infected and non-infected residents. They would be patrolling the streets and wouldn’t witness any activity at all, and then all it took was to turn a corner and the entire situation would change instantly. Rioting and looting would be in effect with people taking advantage of the lockdown. What was even more strange, was that among the rioters and looters were infected people. They were staggering around aimlessly moaning or screaming. The loss of sensory inputs created fear and disorientation in those who had been affected, to the point that they had become ferocious in their interaction with the world.

Jessica sat in the first vehicle along with Major Jack Danning as it was easier to direct the group. She was the lead person in the special investigations team although she had been told that Major Danning superseded her in the event of a security incident. She hadn’t argued with this as it made sense and so far, there hadn’t been an incident that had evoked his control on the group. However, the more time they remained in the quarantine zone meant the more chance of an incident, especially when madness was setting in.
